Great Skip Experience
Ordering: all done online, simple to use system
Delivery: the skip was delivered on time, but (more importantly) after the school rush… (It’s a very busy road, for 15 minutes a day, so they nailed this).
Duration: we got to have the skip for two weeks which was great as I had loads of garden waste, and general side-of-the-house junk that needed going. A previous skip company we used only gave us a three-day max option, so being able to tackle the job over two weekends was great.
User experience: as regards the use of the skip: does what it says on the tin. Just chuck stuff in. (Point of reflection – there was no gross bin juice from previous users that could’ve run down my driveway)
Pickup: again, the driver came AFTER the school run. So, bonus points there…
My load was slightly high, but as it was 80%+ green waste, the driver (along with management consent) agreed it was under the threshold to still be taken away safely. It would’ve been a ball-ache to have to unload, but the clear communication between myself, the driver and manager (on the phone) made this easy.
Driver at pickup: Wonderfully friendly chap, obviously knows what he’s doing. Because of the narrowness of our road, a neighbour was blocked, but within seconds (and with the pleasant and polite demeanor he’d already demonstrated) he made way no fuss.
So, the skip went away, no issues, only good things.
I will be using these guys again. Probably sooner rather than later.

Needed a skip at short notice and called several companies who all quoted 5-7 days for delivery. Dixon’s price was as cheap as the cheapest quote they were able to deliver on the same day. In fact the skip arrived less than 90 minutes after my call. Office staff and drivers we’re all really helpful, cheerful and efficient. Escape was collected again exactly when agreed. I placed an order for a 4yd skip, on Tuesday 02/06/20 and it was promptly delivered on the Thursday, 04/06/20 as arranged. The young girl I spoke to on the telephone, to place this order, was very pleasant and helpful. I requested, a same day delivery and collection of the skip, as it had to go on the drive for loading, but also had to be removed, for my disabled partner, to put her car back on the drive at night, this was for her car insurance
criteria. This request wasn’t a problem, and they did exactly as was needed. They also supplied the appropriate size vehicle as requested, due to the concrete drive being fragile, this was also no problem to arrange. The driver arrived, within the estimated delivery slot time, and you really couldn’t wish for a nicer bloke.
He was friendly and polite, and when I asked if he could take away, a long length of steel framework, that wouldn’t fit in the skip, as I couldn’t cut it up, he said no problem, and promptly lay it on the truck bed, when he picked up the skip. It is also worth mentioning, the skip was also, in very good condition, no rotten floor. This is an honest review of the service I received, from Dixons Skip Hire.
I couldn’t regard them any higher, five star service throughout.
AND I’M AN EX SKIP LORRY DRIVER. So I do know how the industry works, or in some cases doesn’t.
