FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: – What sizes of Skips do you offer?
A: – We offer a Mini (3 Tonne), a Midi (4 Tonne) a Maxi (5 Tonne), a Builders (8 Tonne) or a large Builders Skips which is 10 Tonnes.
Q: – How do I know which size to order?
A: – It is always best to go for the next size up as if we have to re-deliver a larger one it will cost you more. If you’re unsure, please give us a call before you order and tell us what you are going to put in it and we’ll advise the best size to go for.
Q: – What can I put in my skip?
A: – More or less any waste created by carrying out building jobs, house or garage clearances, garden tidy ups etc., including wood, plastics, metals, household furniture such as sofas, chairs, tables, etc., kitchen cupboards, worktops, bathroom furniture, paving, rubble, but not asbestos, paints, oils, flammable or dangerous liquids, such as gas bottles, fire extinguishers or any pressurised container
Q: – When do you deliver?
A: – Normally the same day you order it (Monday-Friday), but if not certainly the next. This depends on the time you order, where it is going and occasionally even the weather.
Q: – How long do I have the skip for?
A: – Normally 7 days and we will collect it automatically – you must call us if it is not ready and we will re-schedule your collection date. However, we do reserve the right to apply an extra charge for any period longer than 7 days.
Q: – Do we have to be there for delivery?
A: – No, you don’t have to be there as long as you have paid for the skip beforehand. If you are wanting it to be left in a specific place, it would be helpful if you could tell us this when you order it and please make sure there is sufficient access for our wagon and nothing in the way (e.g. neighbour’s cars), as if we are unable to leave it, we may apply an additional charge to cover labour and diesel costs. If you live in a restricted parking area, you must tell us this before you order as we may not be allowed to leave it outside your property.
*Please note if it is to be left on the road or on Council land you will require a permit which we can obtain on your behalf.*
Q: – How much can we fill it up to?
A: – Level with the top of the sides of the skip is the maximum amount we are legally allowed to carry.
Q: – How & when do we pay?
A: – Either cash on delivery or a card payment over the phone before the skip gets delivered. We accept debit and credit cards.
Q: – Do we have to be there when it gets collected?
A: – No; just make sure there is enough access for our wagon to pick up the skip. Please make sure there are no cars in the way as if we cannot collect it, we may apply an additional charge to cover labour and diesel costs.
Q: – How wide does my drive have to be to fit your skip wagon?
A: – 9 feet or 2.8 metres.
