In simple terms it needs to be level with the sides and NOT like this!
We recently delivered a skip to a customer in Sheffield who despite signing our T&C’s that stipulate the correct level that skips can be filled to, decided to ignore this and over-filled it to the level you can see in the picture above.
When we arrived to collect it, we called him to say this was not acceptable as it would be dangerous to transport back to our yard as it could have resulted in an accident on the road, or at the very least risk us being prosecuted for transporting an unsafe load.
Sadly, our customer refused to answer so after 3 further calls from our office, we had no alternative but to offload the extra waste and then return the then level skip to our yard for recycling. To make matters worse, he had also put around 8 rooms worth of carpets in the skip which are not allowed (again clearly stated in our Terms & Conditions)
A few days later we were astonished to get a 1* Google review complaining that we had done this despite it being entirely caused by them.
So, if you need any advice on what can and can’t go in your skip or the levels allowed, please give our friendly team a call on 0113 242 3054 and together we can safely remove your waste.
